In the ref. 2nd read above, Engineer-in-Chief,
ISPP, Dowlaiswaram has requested to issue operational rules on Pattisam
Lift Scheme, Government after careful examination hereby
issue the following operational rules for Pattisam Lift Scheme on River
Godavari:
1)
This Lift Scheme
should be designed suitably keeping the minimum water level as (+)14.00 meters.
2)
The water through the
Pattisam Lift scheme shall be drawn, when the water level in River Godavari at
Pattisam pump house site is at (+) 14.00 metres or above only.
3)
First priority would
be given to Godavari Delta from the water available at Sir Aurther Cotton
Barrage (SACB) and then only water should be lifted through Pattisam Lift
Scheme.
4)
Water should be drawn
during flood season only from river Godavari
which otherwise will be flowing over the crest of SACB, as waste into
the sea. The water should not be drawn
through this scheme during the Rabi Season.
5)
The discharge drawn
from the Lift Scheme should not exceed the surplus flow
over the SACB, after meeting the demands of SACB and other existing lift
irrigation schemes.
6)
The water available in
the storage of SACB can not be drawn
through this lift scheme, as the minimum water level of the pump house is kept
at (+) 14.00 metres, well above the pond level of SACB of (+)13.67 metres.
7)
The approval of
the SCIWAM Committe, which is looking after release of water in irrigation projects should be obtained before
operating the Pattisam Lift scheme.
8)
The scheme should be
operated only, when all the above
conditions are fullfiled.
9) The Pattisam lift scheme will be operated in accordance with the
operational schedule as approved and authorised by the Engineer-in-Chief,
Irrigation in accordance with the above conditions. Any change in the operational schedule will be
done with the approval of the Government only.
2. The Engineer-in-Chief,
ISPP, Dowlaiswaram shall take necessary action accordingly.
