THE ANDHRA PRADESH REORGANISATION

(AMENDMENT) ACT, 2015

NO. 12 OF 2015

[30th March, 2015.]

An Act further to amend the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.

BE it enacted by Parliament in the Sixty-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Act, 2015.

(2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.

2. In the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in section 22, in sub-section (1), for the figures and words “50 members in

the Legislative Council of Andhra Pradesh”, the figures and words “58 members in the Legislative Council of Andhra Pradesh” shall be substituted.

3. In section 23 of the principal Act,—

(i) in sub-section (1), for the figures and words ‘‘50 seats in the Legislative Council of Andhra Pradesh’’, the figures and words ‘‘58 seats in the Legislative Council of Andhra Pradesh’’ shall be substituted;

(ii) in sub-section (2), in clause (i), for sub-clause (a), the following sub-clause shall be substituted, namely:—
