Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister reviews the
preparedness for implementing DBT for kerosene in Gujarat
The Minister of State (I/C) for
Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan met the Food and Civil
Supplies Minister of Gujarat today in Ahmedabad and reviewed the preparedness
for implementing Direct Benefit Transfer for Kerosene in the State of Gujarat
w.e.f. 1st April, 2016. The State Government has identified 7 districts for the
implementation of the scheme in Gujarat. During the meeting, detailed
discussions also took place on enhancing LPG coverage in the State of Gujarat.
Shri Chhatra Singh Mori, Minister of State, Government of Gujarat was also
present during the meeting in addition to senior officials of Government of
Gujarat, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and collectors of the 7
districts.

Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister reviews the
preparedness and strategy of the OMCs to expand the LPG penetration across the
country
The Minister of State (I/C) for
Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan reviewed the preparedness and
strategy of the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to expand the LPG penetration
across the country on Tuesday at Mumbai. With 2016 being declared as the ‘Year
of LPG Consumers’, he stressed on the need to popularize and make available LPG
in an efficient manner, with emphasis on remote and difficult areas of the
country. He wanted the OMCs to finalize a transparent, innovative and
simplified mechanism of distributorship, including a mechanism for distributing
cylinders of smaller capacity. He expressed confidence on the ability of the
OMCs to achieve the ambitious target of adding 10 crore more households in the
country by the end of 2018. The meeting was attended by senior officers of OMCs
engaged in LPG distribution, and the officers of the Ministry.

Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister stresses on
improving performance on Mahanagar Gas Limited in Mumbai
The Minister of State (I/C) for
Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, on Tuesday reviewed the
working of Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) in the city of Mumbai. Stressing on the
need of MGL to improve its performance, he emphasized on the necessity of
taking assistance of the Hon’ble MPs/MLAs for resolving all issues pertaining
to the state government / BMC. He also emphasized on the need to meet the
targets for PNG connections to the residential locations. He asked the Oil
Marketing Companies (OMCs) and MGL to work in close co-ordination, to expand
the PNG network in the city, so that consumers have access to environmentally
friendly fuel. Members of Parliament of Mumbai Shri Kirit Somayya, Shri Gajanan
Kirtikar, Shri Gopal Shetty and Shri Rahul Shevale and MLA Shri Ashish Shelar,
and officials of MGL and officers of OMCs also attended.
