Global Crude oil price of Indian Basket was US$ 42.35 per bbl on 21.04.2016
The
international crude oil price of Indian Basket as computed/published today by
Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and
Natural Gas was US$ 42.35 per barrel (bbl) on 21.04.2016. This was higher than
the price of US$ 40.33 per bbl on previous publishing day of 20.04.2016.
In rupee terms, the price of Indian Basket increased to Rs. 2807.37
per bbl on 21.04.2016 as compared to Rs 2671.72 per bbl on 20.04.2016. Rupee closed weaker at Rs
66.29 per US$ on 21.04.2016 as against Rs 66.24 per US$ on 20.04.2016. The table

1 Cr Consumers join the 'GiveitUp' Movement
Minister
of State (Independent Charge) for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri
Dharmendra Pradhan, today held a press conference to mark achievement of
one crore consumers joining the ‘GiveItUp’ movement, which was started
on the call given by the Prime Minister on 27.03.2015 at Úrja Sangam’
conclave. Through the GiveItUp initiative the Government urged the
well-off LPG consumers to voluntarily surrender their subsidy and
through the subsidy saved the Government promised to give connection to
such poor families having no LPG connection.
Shri Pradhan Hon’ble Minister shared the idea behind starting the GiveItUp’’ movement and thanked all individuals who volunteered to surrendered their subsidy. He thanked the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, for initiating the idea and carrying it forward as a ‘brand ambassador’ . He highlighted that majority of GiveItUp consumers belongs to middle class families, pensioners, teachers, etc who were driven by an idea to help their needy fellow citizens. States of Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have contributed to nearly 50 % of the total numbers. More than 60 lakh connections have been given to BPL families.
