Normalcy in NIT, Srinagar restored
The
students, faculty and parents were reassured by Dr. Rajat Gupta,
Director National Institute of Technology, Srinagar that the temporary
situation arising out of tensions from disappointment at the outcome of
the cricket match on 31st March. 2016 has been overcome. The situation
in the campus and at the hostels was normal, and academic activities
would continue on Monday the 4th of April, 2016.
The district administration and local authorities had extended their fullest cooperation, enabling the situation to be contained. The atmosphere at the Institute is peaceful, and infrastructure and facilities are functional.
The group of students have been counselled in the presence of senior officials. Director, NIT Srinagar, assured the parents, students and all concerned that there is no cause for apprehension and students are safe and secure at the campus. All programmes in the institution will take place as scheduled, including the ‘National Research Scholar Conclave’ to be held on 2nd and 3rd April, 2016.
