Agriculture and Cooperation Department – Renaming the existing “De-
oxy ribo Nucleic Acid (DNA) Finger Printing and Transgenic Crops
Monitoring Laboratory” as “Telangana De-oxy ribo Nucleic Acid (DNA)
Finger Printing and Transgenic Crops Monitoring Laboratory” and
declaration as State Seed Laboratory under Section 4 of the Seeds Act,
1966 (Central Act 54 of 1966) – Notification – Issued.

Read the following:-
1) A.P. Reorganization Act, 2014.
2) From the Commissioner and Director of Agriculture,
Telangana, Hyderabad, Letter No.SRC(2)6/2014, Dated
….7.2014 and 22.11.2014.

ORDER:
Whereas, in pursuance of Section 3 of the Andhra Pradesh
Reorganization Act, 2014 (Act of 2014), the new State to be known as the
State of Telangana has been formed from the appointed day.

2)  And whereas, the “De-oxy ribo Nucleic Acid (DNA) Finger Printing
and Transgenic Crops Monitoring Laboratory”, located at Malakpet,
Hyderabad, has been established by the former State of Andhra Pradesh
in exercise of the powers conferred under sub section 2 of section 4 of the
Seeds Act, 1966 (Central Act 54/1966).

3) And whereas, the said Laboratory neither included in Schedule IX
nor in the Schedule X to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014.

4)  And whereas, the Government of India has been addressed to
include the said Laboratory in the Xth Schedule to the Act and pending
Notification to be issued by the Government of India, it has been decided
to rename the said Laboratory as “Telangana De-oxy ribo Nucleic Acid
(DNA) Finger Printing and Transgenic Crops Monitoring Laboratory”.

5) And whereas, after taking into consideration of the report submitted by
the Commissioner and Director of Agriculture, Telangana, Hyderabad, the
following Notification will be published in the Telangana State Gazette
dated 09.03.2015.

                             NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred under section 102 of Andhra
Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014, Government of Telangana, hereby
rename the existing De-oxy ribo Nucleic Acid (DNA) Finger Printing and
Transgenic Crops Monitoring Laboratory as “TELANGANA De-oxy ribo
Nucleic  Acid  (DNA)  Finger  Printing  and  Transgenic  Crops
Monitoring Laboratory”, Hyderabad, in the Department of Agriculture
and declared as the State Seed Laboratory, Hyderabad under section 4 of
the Seeds Act, 1966 (Central Act 54 of 1966) for the purpose of carrying
out analysis of seeds of both notified and non-notified kind and variety for
quality parameters by the seed analyst.
