Elections-Revised rates for vehicles, Hire Charges and Batta charges

O R D E R:

In the G.O. 1st read above, orders were issued fixing the uniform rates of hire charges and Batta charges in respect of Private Vehicles engaged in connection with General Elections to House of People/APLA, 2009.  The General Elections, 2014 are scheduled to be held in two phases i.e. on 30-04-2014 and on 07-05-2014.

2.       The Transport Commissioner, AP, Hyderabad vide letter 2nd read above,        has stated that certain Associations of Motor Vehicles have represented that the hire charges for vehicles requisitioned for election duties were fixed in the year 2009 and requested to enhance the same in view of the increase in vehicles cost, cost of spare parts, maintenance cost, increase of insurance charges and salaries of drivers and cleaners. He has also stated that after getting the matter enquired into by the Deputy Transport Commissioner, Krishna at Vijayawada and further examined by the officers of the Transport Department at Hyderabad, he has found that the cost of vehicle, rate of interest, maintenance cost of vehicle, insurance premium and wages of crew have increased substantially during the last five years and hence proposed for increase of hire and other charges of private vehicles to be utilized for election related matter during the General Elections, 2014. He has suggested to increase the hire and other charges and also suggested to supply of lubricants (Engine Oil) to private vehicles.

3.       Government, after careful consideration of the proposal of Transport Commissioner, has decided to increase the hire charges and Batta charges as proposed by the Transport Commissioner and not to supply the lubricants.

4.       Accordingly, Government hereby order the following revised rates in respect of Private Vehicles engaged in connection with General Elections to the House of People/A.P. Legislative Assembly, 2014 in supersession of the orders issued in the reference 1st read above.

5.         If the rates, finalized by the Collectors in the meeting with the Road Transport Authority members, happen to be less than the maximum admissible hire charges indicated in para-4 above, the same may be adopted.

6.       All the District Collectors, Commissioner, GHMC & District Election Officer Hyderabad, Director General of Police and Inspector General of Police, Hyderabad, Transport Commissioner, Hyderabad, all the Commissioners of Police and all the Superintendents of Police are requested to adopt the above rates fixed in para-4 above without Lubricants.

7.       This order issues with the concurrence of Finance (Expr.GAD.II) Department vide their U.O.No.7804/207/Expr.GAD-I/2014, dt:01-04-2014.
